Emotions, Team Spirit, and Sunshine: Regional Games in Lugano

Lugano was all about sport, joy, and community from September 26 to 28, 2025: Over 100 athletes provided unforgettable moments at the Regional Games and competed in the sports of Boccia, Swimming, Tennis, and Sailing. The first Sailing regattas already started on Friday.

With their great commitment, the local sports clubs made a decisive contribution to the success. Dedicated helpers, exciting and fair competitions, a great atmosphere, and sunny weather made the Regional Games unique.

On Saturday, Christa Rigozzi hosted the varied evening program, which thrilled everyone with an impressive show by Gym-Abili. Participants and guests were treated to freshly cooked meals, lovingly prepared by the Comitato Carnevale di Lugano.

At the closing ceremony on Sunday, the athletes were pleased to be visited by Roberto Badaracco, Deputy Mayor of Lugano and Head of the Department of Culture, Sport and Events. He officially ended the games and honored the athletes for their impressive achievements.

A big thank you goes to the Dicastero Sport Lugano – especially to Samuela Gaggini and Lisa Gaspescha – for the excellent overall organization as well as to the SOSWI Ticino support association for the great support.
