Top Performances, Team Spirit, Emotions: a Brilliant Conclusion to the Games

After intense and emotional days of competition, the Special Olympics flag was ceremoniously handed over in snow-covered Sestriere to Chile, which will host the next World Games in 2027.

Team Switzerland can be proud! The athletes gave their best in every competition or match. They trained hard, faced the challenges, and showed full commitment even in sometimes adverse weather conditions and icy cold. The medal count is outstanding, but even more valuable are the experiences, the new friendships, and the countless goosebump moments. Even the athletes who are returning home without a medal have achieved great things and can be incredibly proud of themselves.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who made this experience possible:

The athletes, who surpassed themselves with courage, passion, and ambition. The results can be found here.

To the coaches who optimally prepared, supported, and repeatedly motivated them.

The delegation leadership, who accompanied, supported, and safely brought Team Switzerland back home.

Our great sponsors and partners, whose generous support made this participation possible.

The accompanying families and fans, who loudly cheered on and supported Team Switzerland.

The entire on-site team, who worked tirelessly to ensure everything ran smoothly.

A picture says more than a thousand words!
