Ski Guide Kurt Fedier Introduces His Team for the World Winter Games Turin 2025

Nearly 80 people gathered in the gymnasium of Amsteg school to learn more about one of their own: Kurt Fedier from Bristen is participating in the World Winter Games Turin 2025 as the ski guide for athlete Judith Wegmann. After a brief introduction about Special Olympics, the World Winter Games Turin 2025, and the preparation status of the 68-member Team Switzerland, Kurt Fedier explained how he trains with the blind skier Judith Wegmann and the special challenges involved in training with a visually impaired athlete. Athlete Judith Wegmann also spoke about her life and emphasized what sports mean to her: “My life hasn’t always been easy. But skiing has made me strong, because I’ve learned: falling down is not a catastrophe. You can simply get back up after a fall and keep going. That also applies to my life.” After an emotional short video about her training and competition experiences with ski guide Kurt, those present were able to chat during a pleasant aperitif.
