European Basketball Week

Special Olympics athletes in the spotlight – On the occasion of the European Basketball Week of Special Olympics Europe Eurasia, two special highlights are also coming up in Switzerland.

On November 28, the Fribourg Bolze Star team will have a unique opportunity: the players will be able to attend the training session of the Swiss Basketball national team. They will experience the national team up close and will certainly receive many valuable tips and tricks directly from the professionals.

Only two days later, on November 30, the next highlight will follow: During the half-time break of the Switzerland vs. Turkey international match, the two Special Olympics teams RBA Wolves and Zwyssig Rockets will play a demonstration match. In front of a full crowd, they will show their skills and prove how much enthusiasm, dedication and passion they have.

These two actions are a strong sign of appreciation for athletes with disabilities. They represent the vision of Special Olympics to create an inclusive world through the power of sports, in which people with intellectual disabilities can lead an active, healthy and fulfilling life.
