Join us as the athletes push themselves to new heights in exciting competitions. Show your enthusiasm and become part of this special experience. Your presence makes a difference, and your cheering encourages all athletes to give their best.
As part of the National Games Zug 2026, Special Olympics Switzerland is offering a special family program for relatives of the participating athletes. The family program is aimed at parents, siblings, other family members, and caregivers, creating space for shared experiences, exchange, and closeness to the sporting events. Participants can accompany the competitions, take part in selected program items, or organize their time individually.
The offer is structured flexibly and can be booked for two or four days. Depending on your preference, individual participation or a guided option is possible. The program is supplemented by optional leisure and tourism offers in and around Zug.
Family program – 4 days
Thursday, May 28 to Sunday, May 31, 2026
This option is aimed at families who would like to accompany the National Summer Games for the entire duration. It includes access to all official program days, including the opening and closing ceremonies, as well as the opportunity to participate in guided competition tours.
Included:
- Accreditation for all four days
- Reserved seats at the opening and closing ceremonies
- Access to accompanied program items (optional)
- Use of public transport according to accreditation
- Participation in evening programs in the Olympic Village
Family Program – 2 Days
Selectable: Thursday/Friday or Saturday/Sunday
This option is suitable for families with limited time or a specific interest in individual competition days. The content corresponds to the respective daily program.
Included:
- Reserved seats at the opening or closing ceremony (depending on the period chosen)
- Accreditation for two selected days
- Access to accompanied program items (optional)
- Use of public transport according to accreditation
Guided competition tour
The quota has unfortunately been reached!
Families can attend individual competitions with guidance. The tours make it easier to find your way around and offer insights into the competitions, processes, and background of the National Games.
Note:
Tours are optional and time-limited. Participation is subject to availability and separate Registration.
Individual participation
Families who want to organize their time freely can visit all competitions, evening programs, and leisure activities individually. Support is available at the central info point on Arena-Platz.

Catering
- Lunch and dinner in the catering tent at the Stierenmarkt-Areal (optional) Costs CHF 25.00 per person per meal incl. 1 drink
- Alternatively: Restaurants near the sports facilities or food offers in the Olympic Village
Leisure & Tourism
Leisure and excursion offers can be booked independently of the family program, e.g.:
- Zugerberg (hikes, scooter fun)
- Lake Zug boat trip
- Höllgrotten Baar
- City tours and puzzle trails
The booking is made directly via Zug Tourismus.
Important information (legal & organizational)
- Participation in the family program is only possible with prior Registration.
- The number of places is limited; registrations will be considered in the order in which they are received.
- Program changes (e.g. due to weather or organizational reasons) are subject to change.
- Accommodation and individual leisure activities are not included in the family program and must be booked independently.
- Catering offers are optional and subject to a fee, unless otherwise stated.
