Why Dignity Matters

Man speaking at podium

Last night, Timothy Shriver, Chairman of Special Olympics International, gave an inspiring talk at the Europa Institute of the University of Zurich. At the heart of his presentation “Why Dignity Matters” were human dignity, inclusion, and the transformative power of sports. Tim has dedicated his entire life to the Dignity movement—a vision in which every person is seen as valuable and equal. His long-standing work with Special Olympics aims to break down prejudices and create genuine encounters that make our society stronger, more empathetic, and more inclusive.
With great charisma and perfect rhetoric, he captivated the audience. We are convinced: the Special Olympics World Winter Games Switzerland 2029 will change Switzerland.
