Welcome to the team, Nina and David!

We are delighted to welcome two dedicated new employees, Nina Lütolf and David Hürzeler, to Special Olympics.

David Hürzeler comes from the Bernese Oberland and has been living in Valais for six years. He prefers to spend his free time with his two daughters Zoé and Léonie. David is active in a variety of sports – from snowboarding, surfing, and paragliding to e-biking and Floorball. After studying sociology, sport, and media and communication at the University of Bern, he worked for Swiss-Ski in event organization for nine years and served as sports coordinator at the Youth Olympic Games in Lausanne in 2020. Most recently, he developed sports programs and camps for young people in Valais. At Special Olympics, David is involved in the Sport & Formation department. His motivation comes from the enthusiasm of the athletes: “I’ve already had the opportunity to attend a Special Olympics competition. The pure joy of an athlete during the bib number draw that I experienced there is motivation enough for me for the next few years.”

Nina Lütolf lives in Bern and is a true sports enthusiast. Whether it’s jogging, strength training, padel, or beach volleyball – exercise is simply part of her life. In her free time, she enjoys traveling and spending a lot of time with family, her boyfriend, and friends. After completing her Master’s degree in Sports Science at the University of Bern with a focus on health promotion, Nina worked for 3.5 years at the Office for Sport and Health Promotion of the Canton of Zug. There, she managed various projects and was involved in implementing integration and inclusion goals in sports. At Special Olympics, Nina is involved in the areas of Sport, Formation, and Legacy. Her goal is to provide people with intellectual disabilities easy access to sports – for example, through Discovery Days. Her conviction: ” Sport connects people. Everyone should be accepted as they are and have the same opportunities to participate in life.”

It’s great to have you here, Nina and David – we look forward to working with you!
