Good competition conditions at Hoch-Ybrig
A week before the competition, it was clear that the Einsiedeln Ski Marathon would have to be canceled due to lack of snow. So it was certain that we would have to move our cross-country competition to Hoch-Ybrig.
After the reconnaissance on Monday morning, we knew we could seize this opportunity. We were welcomed with open arms by Hoch-Ybrig AG, Urs Keller, and Restaurant Bärghus, Helen Reichlin. All our wishes and concerns were generously met. We thank everyone for their exemplary support and warm hospitality.
It was clear that we had to adapt our competition to the new conditions at Hoch-Ybrig. Thanks to the well-coordinated team of helpers, the competition ran smoothly. The transport of materials by the helpful staff greatly facilitated our work. Even the weather cooperated. It remained dry throughout the competition, and the sun occasionally appeared. 29 athletes competed for medals, supported by family members and caregivers. There was a warm and cheerful atmosphere. After the awards ceremony in the Bärghus, everyone happily headed down the valley. Hoch-Ybrig will remain a fond memory for everyone.
Everyone wished that Hoch-Ybrig would be kept as an alternative.
