General Information

Special Olympics offers regular training opportunities and competitions for people with intellectual disabilities and enables Swiss delegations to participate in international competitions.

Principles & Rules

The official Special Olympics Rules apply to all competition levels of Special Olympics. As an international sports organization, Special Olympics has formulated the rules based on the regulations of international sports federations and national sports associations. The rules of the sports associations apply, provided they do not contradict the Special Olympics specific rules. In such cases, the Official Special Olympics Rules apply. You can find details on this here.

Ethics Charter

The embedding of Olympic values and a sustainable development of sport are very important for Special Olympics. Swiss Olympic has developed nine principles for this in an Ethics Charter, which Special Olympics also follows.
