FUNCTION
Ensuring functional IT communication channels

PURPOSE
During the National Games, a functional IT infrastructure is available to SOSWI staff on site.

TASKS
An SOSWI IT Volunteer supports the Special Olympics organization in all IT matters before, during, and after the National Games. They thus ensure that all IT requirements are met and are available to SOSWI staff in the SOSWI office, hotel, at check-in, competition venues, information desk, etc.

Possible areas of deployment are:
Procurement, delivery, and installation of necessary hardware and software
Setting up and configuring computers
Setting up local networks (WLAN, WiFi,…)
Delivering and collecting IT equipment
Setting up and dismantling hardware (computers, printers, routers, etc.)
Installation of software, printer drivers, malware, etc.
General IT support for SOSWI staff at the competition, check-in, information desk, side events, and in the organizing committee office

REQUIREMENT
A very high affinity for and competence in IT is required.

TIME COMMITMENT
The assignment duration is limited to a few weeks before, until approximately one week after the Games.

TRAINING
No mandatory SOSWI training is required.
