DOMAIN MARKETING
FUNCTION
Contact person for regional athlete ambassadors
PURPOSE
People with disabilities have active and meaningful roles at SOSWI events and are optimally supported and prepared for them.
TASKS
The athletes are built up per region. The initial contact is made via Special Olympics, and the support is then provided via the Regional Athlete Coordinator.
The athletes should be trained (Facts & Figures about Special Olympics, information about the relevant event, preparation for questions / answers, etc.)
Accompanying / picking up for event
REQUIREMENTS
Empathy, openness, patience
No hesitation in interacting with people with disabilities
Basic knowledge of Special Olympics
RESOURCES
3-6 activities per year, each with 2-4 hours of participation together with the athlete at events / for interviews / presentations
