They are a highlight in the annual calendar of Special Olympics Switzerland and allow athletes to compete with others. They also offer a perfect platform to gain competition experience and thus prepare for even larger events like the National Games.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Sports Offered<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The focus is on competitions in at least <strong>three sports<\/strong>, which are conducted according to the sports philosophy of Special Olympics. Particularly important is <strong>Divisioning<\/strong>, which means the fair grouping of participants into categories that are as performance-homogeneous as possible. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Information for Organizers <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The selection of sports is coordinated between SOSWI and the organizers. <strong>Infrastructure<\/strong> and <strong>demand<\/strong> are crucial. To ensure professional competition operations, SOSWI recommends close cooperation with local sports clubs.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Organizing Regional Games is more demanding than a single competition:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>higher requirements for <strong>communication, event organization, volunteering, marketing, and supporting program<\/strong>,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Planning time of usually <strong>two years<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Exclusive Date<\/strong>: SOSWI reserves the date \u2013 no other Special Olympics competitions take place in the region, and nationally, no competitions in the same sports are held either.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Open to all<\/strong>: Athletes and teams from all over Switzerland can participate.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Regional integration<\/strong>: Language and communication are adapted to the venue. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">SOSWI closely
