The Unified Golf Tournament in Sagogn
On April 19, 2026, the golf course in Sagogn transformed into a place of encounter and sporting ambition. Despite the vagaries of April weather, we celebrated a successful start to the tournament season – a day that once again proved that sport knows no bounds.
Sporting Commitment in All Weather
The weather in Sagogn was changeable, but the motivated athletes and Unified Partners were not deterred. As golfers are accustomed to all types of weather, the alternation of sun and rain was no obstacle. The impeccably maintained course provided the perfect stage for the first tournament of the year.
The Competitions at a Glance
The sporting achievements were contested in various categories:
- Level 4 (HCP-relevant): 6 ambitious players demonstrated their skills over 9 holes.
- Level 2 (Team Competition): A diverse field from Graubünden, Ticino, Western Switzerland, and Central Switzerland competed in teams with a Unified Partner.
Thanks to the efficient shotgun start, everyone began simultaneously, which had the pleasant side effect that everyone also reached the finish almost at the same time.
Exchange and Community
We were delighted to welcome a delegation from Swiss Golf to this event. A heartfelt thank you to Doris Rechsteiner, Daniel Schaltegger, and Martin Schönenweid for attending and for the pleasant exchange on site.
After the tournament, the social part followed in the restaurant. Over fine food and a great atmosphere, the achievements were honored in a festive awards ceremony. Such an event thrives on the people behind it – a big thank you to the athletes, the Unified Partners (many participating for the first time), the coaches, caddies, and all helpers.
“This Special Olympics tournament was once again an impressive experience for everyone involved.”
With this positive momentum, we now look forward with anticipation to the next big goal: Next Stop – National Games in Zug!
