Golf

Golf, a Special Olympics sport since 2005, requires technical skill. With 5 different skill levels (from the driving range to the 18-hole course), there are suitable entry opportunities for all players, regardless of their existing skills. Golf is also offered as Unified Sports® (Level 2).

Competition Format

  • In Switzerland, competitions are offered at Levels 1, 2, and 4.
  • The introduction of Level 5 will be tested in the coming years.

Special Olympics Switzerland is also invited to international competitions and World Games. We forward invitations to international events to athletes and sports groups who are active with us. Further information can be found under International Competitions and World Games.

Through a cooperation with Swiss Golf, the development of Golf in Switzerland for people with intellectual disabilities is specifically supported and promoted by the association.

To promote and develop the sport, Special Olympics Switzerland also receives financial support from “Supporting Golf Together” (Swiss Golf, ASGI, and Migros Golf Card). Since 2023, there has been a fund created by Swiss Golf. It provides financial support for participants in Special Olympics Switzerland Golf events.

Interested parties can submit a support request to Special Olympics Switzerland.
